Marietta Country Club Wedding Photos
I always told Paul that I didn’t want an elaborate proposal. I wanted it to be special but simple, and I wanted it to be just us two and not a big scene. I also told him there is no way he would EVER be able to surprise me because I would always be ready/anticipating it- especially since we picked out the ring already!
The proposal itself happened on Saturday- a day where we literally spent the entire day cleaning out my garage…we were sweaty and dirty- romantic sounding, right? We cooked dinner together at home and afterwards he needed to run an errand. So we hoped in the car and drove to what I thought was CVS. Instead, he pulled into the parking lot of Harrison High School (which is ironically where I went to high school), and I knew immediately something weird was up- bc I was thinking there’s no way he is about to propose to me here. However, I had forgotten that this was the first place he ever saw me (I didn’t see/notice him this day, ha). We sat in the car for a few minutes and he started talking to me about how God intended marriage to be and how he wants to have all of that with me. He said that this was the first place he ever saw me and he will never forget it so he felt like it had a special meaning in his heart to ask me to marry him there. We got out of the car and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course, remember this whole time I am still in gym clothes, no make up, my hair is a mess…yay! ha. So we immediately went back home and I put a pound of dry shampoo in my hair, changed and we left to go to my parent’s house and then made our round to a close friend’s house as well. It was very sweet and was a good night!
