Engagements

Swan House Gardens Engagement

These two are absolutely amazing and I cannot WAIT for their wedding this June!! I know it’s so much more fun to hear stories from the couple themselves (it’s my favorite too!!)…so without further adieu….I give you the sweetest engagement story from Georgina!

After we graduated from high school, both Jack and I attended UGA. By the time we graduated, it had been six years since our China study abroad trip. Jack and I both moved to Atlanta after graduation. One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is to go on walks around our neighborhood through the beautiful side streets of Buckhead. My favorite stop to make on our walks is at the Swan House. I think it is the most beautiful hidden treasure of Buckhead. Jack will humor me sometimes and walk through the gates, but most of the time he hurries me along. After the coldest winter, it was the weekend after my birthday and the weather was beautiful. It seemed completely normal to me that Jack would suggest that we go on an early evening walk and I suggested my favorite route that passed by the Swan House. I should have known something was up when we got to the Swan House and to my dismay, the gates were closed, but Jack insisted that it would be okay to walk around the gates and let ourselves in. Jack is never a rule breaker, so this was very unusual and should have been a dead giveaway. Jack proposed in the small white gazebo hidden privately within the Swan House grounds. It was completely private and beautiful- the perfect proposal!
